Free labour is a great way to cut budgets and save money. But unpaid internships are economic barriers that exclude the less privileged from the arts, media and politics. Amalia Illgner, a UK-based freelance writer, decided to sue her internship employer for unpaid wages. Should we be doing the same?

While it may sound silly, more than 9 million people in the UK suffer from loneliness on a daily basis. With Brexit on the table, it’s just proof that no man is an island.

Nellie Benner, Bastiaan Rosman, and Rens Polman take trips for science, riding highs from recreational drugs to teach the world about the effects they have on the body and the brain. Every week, a new substance is tested in front of the camera. Oh yeah, and the Dutch government funds the network that produces the show.

Dutch women are pissed off. 23-year-old Geerte Piening was fined 90 Euros last week for peeing in public. Arguing that there weren't enough public toilets for women, she took her case to court. Conclusion? A huge feminist outcry in the country of tulips.
